Understands all the financial activities for all of the Electrolux companies within Mexico, giving support to various plants and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal and statutory requirements. In addition, will manage the tax activities for all of the Electrolux companies within Mexico, collaborating with the Accounting & Finance management team to improve/standardize processes and controls in support of the tax function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working knowledge of Mexican Tax law procedures (income tax, IETU, IVA, withheld taxes).
Manages and reviews the preparation of annual tax returns, monthly tax prepayments, and informative returns; making sure all the Mexican legal entities are in compliance with their filing tax obligations.
Working knowledge of consolidation regime and determination of deferred taxes.
Prepares/reviews corporate tax reporting in a timely matter, identifying opportunities to improve the effective tax rate of the group and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements
Provides strong leadership to a team of staff supporting the tax manager’s job functions and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of work submitted by the team.
Provides a timely and accurate application of new tax law and accounting developments in a strategic manner.
Work closely with outside tax and accounting firms to minimize the liabilities for Electrolux.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline. Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum 5 years experience in performing complex corporate tax and accounting work.
Knowledge of business and corporate tax compliance as it relates to federal taxes and tax controversy work.
85 – 95% bilingual in Spanish and English (Verbal and written)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge & experience in using Office Programs, primarily Excel.
Working Knowledge of Mexican tax laws and procedures as well as in leverage with tax authorities.
Working Knowledge of general ledger and processing journal entries/reconciliations.
Working Knowledge on banking transactions and using cash flow reports.
Very strong analytical skills with problem-solving abilities.
High degree of confidentiality required
