Supervisor, General Accounting

 Accountability and Scope

The Supervisor, General Accounting  is accountable for the supervision of accurate General Ledger transactions, and reports, through unaudited financial statements, for business units; Validates daily financial data integration; Approves manual or adjusting journal entries, and assists in the management of the General Ledger and Master Chart of Accounts set up and maintenance for new and existing business units; Prepares or facilitates financial audit work papers, as required. Monitors and reports daily Cash Flow transactions; Supervises staff accountants, and provides various ad hoc reports for Accounting management.

Secondary accountabilities may include, monitoring and notification of company leases and loans status (i.e., fleet services and building leases) for renewals and payment processing.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·   Provide leadership to staff accountants, including training and work designation, ensuring adherence to Work Instructions, system utilization, procedures, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements

·   Maintain accurate detailed and summary General Ledger for Incora, with general ledger account analysis, preparation and entries (or approval) of manual, adjusting or reoccurring journal entries, as needed

·   Monitor, and validate the integrity of the daily financial data integrations from multiple U.S. business units; investigates, trouble-shoots and corrects errors, as necessary

·   Oversee and approves the company bank and General Ledger reconciliations of  the Wesco operational accounts, performed by the staff accountant

·   Assists in the update and maintainence of the Master Chart of Accounts and sets up new and existing business units, as needed

·   Monitor and report daily cash flow transactions, and processes periodic transfer of funds, as required by management

·   Perform employee performance evaluations and subsequent actions, as applicable

·   Maintain knowledge and upholds current Federal and State labor laws and Wesco employment, supervisory, safety and security policies and applies Wesco Accounting Work Instructions, as applicable

·   Attend Finance management meetings and company sponsored supervisory or training meetings, as required

Education, Experience and Qualifications

·         Education

Educated to National Vocational Level (NVQ) or equivalent (EU)

BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance is required

·         Experience

5 + years of Accounting experience with Public Accounting being a plus

2 + years of experience supervising professional level GL accountants with no less than 2 direct reports, with the preference being at least 4

Strong experience and use with integrated accounting software and fixed asset management programs

·         Qualifications

Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel and Access, is required

Must be able to travel, as required
